Laura Lacy - Reporter
Laura Lacy was born and raised in Silver Lake, California. Her two loving parents, one a musician and the other an artist, brought her into this world with a great love for music, art, and literature.
By the time Lacy was eight years old her mother was dragging her along to open mic poetry readings where she recited her own original material. She went on to writing songs, short stories, plays, and film scripts.
Lacy attended three years of high school at Hollywood High but decided in her senior year that her interests were not being met there. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 2006 after an enlightening year of studying film. Shortly after, Lacy attended The Los Angeles Film School where she graduated with a certificate in directing and editing. Her intent of studying film was to master an art than encompassed every element of life. With film, Lacy felt she could express herself musically, visually, idealistically, and through the art of story telling. However, in the film industry (as in any industry) those talents are mastered in separate fields by separate individuals. Lacy found herself having to make one aspect of film her life, and found it very difficult.
She went on to working several different jobs from pizza delivery girl to sales clerk, and she’s now a student at Glendale Community College. She still writes and plays music, and is currently trying to get involved in making film editing a career. Her studies in journalism are only another way for her to enlighten herself in the ways of this world.
